MEET THE MAN BEHIND THE BRAND
On March 18, 2019, my life changed when I was hit by a drunk driver. I suffered injuries to my foot and hip that left me unable to walk without a limp. During my recovery, I found that existing underwear brands were uncomfortable and not breathable, often leading to skin irritation and rashes.
With no income and a long road to recovery ahead, I decided to design and create my own underwear line. This led to the birth of "Lucky For Him." I chose this name because of the severity of my accident; many who saw the wreckage on the news in Louisville, Kentucky, assumed I had not survived. I feel incredibly lucky to be alive and to have the opportunity to move forward despite my injuries.
I wanted to create a product that was truly different: breathable, machine-washable, and featuring functional storage for essentials like keys, coins, or money. Despite facing skepticism from others, I have turned my vision into a reality. I am proud to share my story and to contribute to the legacy of Black inventors.
